 Activities of Student Council/ Representation of Students on Academic and Administrative Bodies

 The College has a Student Council. Selection of   Student Council is done in the following method-

  • There is a call for application.
  • The applications are sorted out.
  • The Principal and the student welfare officer finalize the selection of the student representatives in consultation with the coordinators of clubs and committees.
  • If the applications are less than the required numbers, the committee will nominate the members.

Constitution of Student Council

  • The Principal is the Ex-officio President of the Student Council.
  • The student welfare officer acts as the convener of the Council.
  • The Principal nominates senior teachers as coordinators for various associations and clubs.
  • There are three or four student representatives in each Association Club/Cell.
  • The student representatives are nominated by the Principal (after inviting applications from interested students).
  • All students are members of associations/clubs.

MANAGEMENT FEST – GROW AND GLOW

Detailed Report on Management Fest – By Miss. Tazima Parveen III B.Com A

The students council and the Department of Commerce collaboratively had organized a intra-collegiate Management Fest GROW AND GLOW 2018 on 14th of February. The fest was organized with the motive of empowerment of the students in terms of team work , creativity, competitiveness and leadership , which is well received by the students with great enthusiasm and interest.

The event was inaugurated in the gracious presence of the principal and HODs and faculty members of all departments and the students by Mr. Gopal Bhat , Principal Government P U College. Hosangadi. The event attracted 168 participants, who were made into a team of 7 students and were addressed as companies. Of the 7 members , 2 members were in Finance Department, 2 for HR, 2 for Marketing and 1 was the leader of the team, that is  the leader or termed as CEO of the company. The fest had altogether 7 events, of which first was the curtain raiser. In this event the participants were expected to introduce their team by performing an act on the environment protection as theme. Next three events were department wise events of which first was Finance Department in which the students were to prepare Bank reconciliation Statement in the first round and 2nd round is quiz. Second was the HR department where the first round is pick and speech and second round is Debate and GD. The 3rd was Marketing Department in which participants were supposed to advertise different products and the 2nd round was to market and sell the identical product by all teams. Next 3 events are skill games and treasure hunt and the final event was stress interview for the CEO s of the winning team in the above mentioned events. The event started from 9.30 AM and lasted up to 5.30 PM.

The winners of each of the above events and the team of organizers were awarded medals and the champion team was also awarded a trophy.  The Certificates of participation was given to all the participants and certificate of appreciation for the winners and organizers. The event was huge success and is expected to GROW in forthcoming years and make the students GLOW.
