Fine Arts Club 2021-2022

 Fine Arts Club: This club is headed by Mamatha, Lecturer in Kannada.  Fine Arts Club has been guiding and encouraging students to unleash their talents in fine arts.

Programmes organized by the club are:

  1. A talent hunt event was held on 14/01/2022 at our college. The event was inaugurated by Sri Yakub Khadar gulvady, Director, Producer, and National Award winner. Our Correspondent Sri. B.Appanna Hegde, Presided over the function and Our Alumnus Sri Ganesh Achar, Sri Akshay, and Sri Sunith were the invitees of the function. All the students of the college have participated. Provided a stage to showcase the inner talents of students through various performances.
  2. Intercollegiate cultural Competition held at Vakvadi Praveen Kumar Shetty Huttura Samiti, Vakvadi on 27/02/2022. Our Cultural team secured third place in that competition.
  3. ‘Amrathabharatige Kannadadarathi’ programme was organized by the Karnataka Government as a part of the 75th Indepenpendence day in our College On 28/5/2022. Our students have given a cultural programme on that occasion.
  4. The cultural team of our college participated in N-IGMA 2022- fest organized by Nitte College Karkala on 13/7/2022 and 14/7/2022. 21 students participated in that event.
  5. As part of the 75th Independence day ‘Amrita  Mahotsav’, the Government of India organized various competitions and activities at the college level on behalf of the college Cultural Association to celebrate Independence day. The first-place winners were sent to the unit level.
  6. Sushmitha of III B.com and Prithviraj of II B.A., Poornima of II B.com. have participated in the unit-level essay debate competition held on 25/07/2022 held at M.G.M. College Udupi.
  7. On 26/07/2022, in unit level patriotic song and Independence race competition held at Bhandarkars’ College Kundapura, Prajna of III B.A. and Darshan of I B.com., Praveen of I B.A., Shrinidhi of I B.com., Suchitra of II B.Com. have participated respectively. Darshan of I B.com has secured first place and participated in the inter-unit level  Independence race competition held at Padua College, Nantoor on 29/7/2022.
  8.  On 26/7/2022, in the unit-level painting and poster-making competition held at Dr.G.Shankar Women’s Government First Grade College, Ajjarkadu, Soujanya and Vignesh of IIIB.com.have participated respectively.

Fine Arts Club 2020-21

This club is headed by Mamatha, Lecturer in Kannada.  Fine Arts Club has been guiding and encouraging students to unleash their talents in fine arts.

Programmes organized by the club are:

  1. Three students participated in the Mangalore University intercollegiate singing competition held at ST. MARY’S SYRIAN COLLEGE, Brahmavara on 4th 2021. Kumari Prajna of II BA has won the III prize for the Bhavageetha song.
  2. Kumari Prajna IIB.A. Rural talented singer was interviewed by Daijiworld Udupi studio on 03/02/2021.
  3. On 8 March 2021, Various Cultural events were performed by our students related to Women Empowerment.
  4. On 24/9/2021 Cultural Programme was performed by III B.Com. and III B.A. students on Occasion of Farewell Function.

Fine Arts Club 2019-2020           

This club is headed by Smt. Akshatha Kumari J Shetty,  Head of the department of   English. The Fine Arts Club has been guiding and encouraging students to unleash their talents in fine arts.

Programmes organized by the club are:

  1. The dance training programme is conducted from 15th Jan to 7th Feb 2020. Ms Divya, Mr Avinash and Mr Godwin trained the students in semi-classical, folk and film dances. 30 students took benefit of the training programme.
  2. “Talents day” a forum where students showcase their hidden talents was organized in the college on the 28th  2019.  The program was inaugurated by Sri Harish Japthi, Yakshagana Artist, Sowkur Mela.
  3. Twelve students participated in the intercollegiate singing competition held at Bhandarkars’ College on 27th 2019. Kumri Prajna of I BA has won first prize for film song.
  4. Our college cultural team has participated in the inter-collegiate cultural competition ,Chilume, organized by G.F.G.C Byndoor on 18th2020.
  5. The college cultural team has also performed in the inter-collegiate cultural fest “Nenapu” on 8th 2020.
  6. Kanaradi Kamalamma Memorial Inter-collegiate Bhakthi Geethe Competition was organized on 15th 2020. 19 students from different colleges across Udupi district participated in the competition.
  7. Prajna and Gloria Moses of I BA and Ramya of II B.Com A have participated in the inter-collegiate singing competition organized in SMS College, Brahmavar on 27th 2020.

ACTIVITIES : 2018-2019  

Programmes organized by the club are:

  1. “Talents day” a forum where students showcase their hidden talents, was organized in the college on 3 Aug.2018.  The program  was inaugurated by Smt Kalpana Bhaskar, alumna of our college and renowned social worker.
  1. Mangalore University Level inter collegiate devotional song competition sponsored by Smt. Kanaradi kamalamma memorial was held in the college on 16th 2019. Sri Swami Jithakamananadaji Maharaj was inaugurated the programme. Retd Principal Chandraprabha R Hegde, Retd Professor Kanaradi Vadiraj Sir were present in the programe. 32 students of the various college have participated in the programme.
  1. Pooja of III BA has secured second place in the Bhavageethe competition held at SMS College Bhrahmavar on 19 Feb.2019. Nagarathna II BCOM A, Pooja III BA, Ramya I BCOM A have managed to get third place in the Devotional Song Competition on the same day.
  1. Our college cultural team gas also participated in the intercollegiate cultural programme named Tillana held at SMS College Brahmavar on 26 Feb.2019.

ACTIVITIES: 2017-2018

Under the guidance of Dr. Chandravathi Shetty the Fine Arts club of our college is encouraging and guiding the students to participate in intercollegiate Fine Arts and cultural competitions.

Programs organized by the club are:

  • “Talents Day” – a talent hunt programme to identify artists of our college- was held on 8th 2017. Sowmyashri, Accountant, Indian Postal Service Kundapur inaugurated the programme.
  • Intra-college Patriotic song and Dance competitions were conducted in connection with Independence Day.
  • Our college cultural team participated in an intercollegiate cultural competition held at SMS College, Bhrahmavar on 28 Feb. 2018. Shruthi, III B.com. B has won the best Master of Ceremony prize in the competition.
  • Our cultural team participated in Sandhyavani – An inter-collegiate cultural fest held at Poorna Prajna Evening College, Udupi on 16th March 2018. 

ACTIVITIES: 2016-2017

  • “Talents Day” – a talent hunt programme to identify artists of our college- was held on 4th of 2016. The programme was inaugurated by the eminent singer of the region Mr. Subbanna Master.
  • Classical, Film and Folk dance and skit training classes were conducted for our students by Ms. Vaidehi& Mr. ManjunathNaikKodladi in the reporting year.
  • Our cultural team presented dance, singing and yakshaganaprogrammes for the NAAC peer team in the college.
  • Cultural competitions were held in relation to the 70th Independence Day Celebrations.
  • Vinutha II BCom, Sangeetha, Sunitha– III B. Com. and Mallika III BA participated in the University level Intercollegiate Singing Competition held in SMS College, Brahmavar on 22nd 2016.
  • The cultural Team of our College participated in the ‘Rangothsava – 2017’ – an Intercollegiate cultural competition held in G.F.G. College, Kota.

Actvities :  2021-2022

Sharadavani annual magazine of our college has been playing an important role in bringing out the literary and Creative skills of our students. It has also set a stage for the research-oriented writing of staff and students guided by Smt Vaishali S and Mamatha the Students are given training for inter-college essay, elocution and debate and Cultural competitions.

Programmes Organized by the Club:

  • Matru Bhasha Divas celebration was held by the club on 21-02-2022.
  • Students have participated in the essay competition on”swathantrada ashayagalige eduraada savalugalannu naavu nibhayisuttiruva reetigalu “.
  • Students have participated in the inter-collegiate fest N-IGMA 2022 organised by Dr, NSAM first grade college, Nitte.
  • Essay, Elocution, Poem writing and drawing competition are held in our college for college’s Annual Day.

Sharadavani annual magazine of our college has been playing an important role in bringing out the literary and creative skills of our students. It has also set a stage for the research-oriented writing of staff and students guided by Sri Chandra and Mamatha the Students are given training for inter-college essay, elocution, debate and Cultural competitions.

Programmes Organized by the Club:

  1. One day National Webinar was “SHIVARAMA KARANTHA KADAMBARIGALU: PRADESHIKA SAMKRUTHI ANUSANDANA” Organized by our college the Programme under the department of Kannada on 14th Nov 2020.
  1. State-level Kundagannada online Quiz competition in our college on July 22nd to August 6th 2020.
  2. One day national seminar was Organized in our college “MAHILA MATTU PURANA: SRAJANATHMAKATE” on 12th Mar 2021.

Activities:  2019-2020

  1. Prajwal, Shravan, Chethan and Hanumanth Naik have attended kannada workshop held at poorna Prajna College, Udupi on 13th July 2019.Four students of our college have participated in Excels – 2019-20 , Literary and Cultural competition held at Milagres College, Hampankatta on 6th 2019.
  2. Nagashri, Anusha, Nivya, Nayana of III BA have attended a seminar on “Novels of Basavaraj, Kattimani” held at Bhandarkars’ College on 17th July 2019.
  3. Aishwarya and Shubhashri of II BA had attended a seminar on “Hind Swaraj”held at University College, Hampamkatta on 1st Oct.2019.
  4. A Kavigoshti was organized in association with Akhila Karnataka Beladingala sahithya Samithi on 10th 2019.
  5. Two students of the college have attended “Nudi Samarasya – Translation Workshop” held at G.F.G.C. Barkur on 12th 2020.
  6. Three students of the college have participated in the essay competition organized by ‘Kalavali Lekhakiyara Vaachakiyara Sangha’.

‘World Mother Tongue Day’ was celebrated on 20th Feb. 2020 and the Kannada movie – “Sarakari Hiriya Prathamika Shaale Kasargod”  was screened on the occasion. 

Activities: 2018-2019 

  1. A one-day seminar on “Swacch Soch” was organized in the college by the Ramakrishna Mission, Mangalore on 26th 2019. The programme was inaugurated by  Sri Gopinath Rao ex- serviceman, Indian Army. Dr. K Rajmohan Rao, retd. Principal of Govinda Dasa college, Surathkal and Mr. Ranjan Bellarpady, Chief Coordinator of Swacch Manasa, Mangalore were the resourse persons of the programme. Moe than 250 students has taken the benefits of this in this programme.
  1. Health and Family Welfare Department, Udupi has organized district level quiz and elocution competition on “Dangerous of tobacco” on 25th Jan 2019 H.B. Sri Nidhi Poojari of II BCOM A and Prthima III BCOM A have won first and third place respectively.
  1. Shravathi II BCOM A and Sri Nidhi Poojari of II BCOM A have won first and second place respectively.
  1. A drawing competition was held by the Primary Health Centre, Basrur. Shwetharaj of IBA has won first place in the competition.

It has also set a stage for the research-oriented writings of staff and students. Guided by Dr. Chandravathi Shetty, the students are given training for intercollegiate essay, elocution, debate and cultural competitions.

The Programs organized by the Club are:

  • A Musical Drama programme was organized by our college literary club in collaboration with Samudaya Kundapur on 29th 2017.
  • On 22nd 2018, we celebrated ‘Mother Tongue Day. Sri. Shashikanth Shetty, Principal of Ashrith College, Kota inaugurated the programme and gave a lecture on “The Importance of Mother Tongue
  • Shahazeen, III B.Com. (A) has bagged first prize in English essay competition and Srinidhi I B.Com. (A) received II place in Kannada elocution competition, held in Richard Almeda College, Navunda.
  • Karthik Kulal and Shrinidhi of I B.com ‘A’ have participated in intercollegiate debate competition, held at SDM College, Ujire.
  • Triveni and Nethravathi of III BA have got second prize in Mangalore University Level paper presentation Competition on “The Study of Monuments” held at Poorna Prajna College, Udupi.

Prof. B. Shivaram Shetty, Mangalore University, Sri Nityananda Padre, Senior Editor, Udayavani, Dr. B. Janardhan Bhat, Columnist, Belman, Dr. Satwik N.V., Blog Editor, Hasan participated as Resource Persons of the workshop.
  • A Special Lecture on ‘Importance of Understanding Halagannada Texts’ by Sri Krishna Ahithanala, Kota for III B.A Students.
  • A Five-Day Workshop on ‘Shasthriya Kannada Bhashe’for Udupi District Highschool Teachers and College Students in association with Central Kannada Language Study Centre,
