The Youth Red Cross is the most important constituent of its mother institution, the Indian Red Cross Society. It is a group[ movement organized for students in colleges and technical institutions. A qualified lecturer is recognized as the leader and called Programme Officer. The students are framed and encouraged to manage the affairs of the group, electing their own office bearers.
OBJECTIVES
The Indian Youth Red Cross is organized for the purpose of inculcating Indian youth the ideal and practice of service especially in relation to :
- Taking care of their own health and that of others.
- Understanding and accepting civic responsibility.
- Maintaining a spirit of friendliness and helpfulness towards other youth in India and worldwide.
- Dissemination of the Red Cross youth in India and all over the world.
- Dissemination of Red Cross movement.
FEATURES OF YOUTH RED CROSS UNIT IN THE COLLEGE
The youth red cross unit will be attached to the college, and both male and female students can join the YRC. Each unit functions under the guidance of the Programme Officer who may seek the help of the college authorities of the college.
Sri Raghavendra Shetty, HOD of History is appointed as the Nodal Officer of the Red Cross unit of the college during the Academic Year 2022-23.
