Prof. Purushothama Balyaya, Assistant Professor and HOD Department of commerce,
Published two books under ISBN Publications for First Semester B.Com and Second Semester B.com as per CBCS Syllabus of Mangalore University –
i) Strategic Management & Organizational Behaviour & (ii) Quantitative Techniques
- Has successfully completed Kargil Diwas Quiz organised by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. He coordinated a national-level seminar on the Relevance of Social Enterprises, organized by the Department of commerce.
- He attended On-line FDP organized by Mary’s College Shirva. He also attended a One Day National Webinar organized by NAAC on New Methodology of NAAC Accreditation at Milagrese College Mangalore.
- He is appointed as IQAC Coordinator after attaining superannuation by former IQAC Coordinator Dr. M Dinesh Hegde. He is also appointed Students’ Welfare Officer and E-Attestation officer for NSP &
- He Coordinated a NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE INVESTOR EDUCATION PROGRAM On 3rd July 2021 in collaboration with LOTUS KNOW WEALTH PVT LTD Mumbai. The topics discussed are Capital Market Awareness, Introducing Mutual funds, and Financial Planning.
- Being IQAC Coordinator, he organized four National Webinars and National E- Quizzes. He coordinated an IQAC Sponsored Faculty Development Program in the college on 23rd March 2021 and he is the resource person for the IQAC in-house Orientation session on New Methodology of NAAC Accreditation held on 26th July 2021.
- He is the coordinator of the newly started Archaeological Inscriptions Recording and Study Centre in the college campus with a novel idea of preservation, protection, and recording of ancient archaeological inscriptions, statues, and idols of Basrur and nearby areas.

- She has also participated in a one-day state-level seminar on “Idea of Karnataka” on 27th Sept 2019.
- She has attended the Principals’ meeting on 16th Jan. 2020 held at Govt. Women’s College, Ajjarakadu, Udupi.

- He has published three books under ISBN Publications for First Semester and Second Semester B.Com classes as per the new CBCS syllabus of Mangalore University, (i) Quantitative Techniques I, released at SDPT College Kateel, and (ii) Quantitative Techniques II, released at St. Aloysius Evening College Mangalore, (iii) Strategic Management and Organisational Behaviour ( Kannada Version) released in our college by our beloved Correspondent Sri B. Appanna Hegde in the college.
- He has attended TWO- DAY INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE on ‘Emerging Issues and Trends in Intellectual Property Capital’ and ‘Innovative Management Practices In the Global Economy’ held at Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal on 13th and 14th January 2020, and presented a paper on ‘Combating Pitfalls of Family Business, An Analytical Study of Udupi District.
- He was selected as a member of the subject revision committee by Mangalore University for review of the AUDITING subject for the sixth semester B.Com as per the new CBCS Syllabus.
- He has also attended a one-day workshop on CHOICE BASED CREDIT SYSTEM FOR II SEMESTER SUBJECTS and CHOICE BASED CREDIT SYSTEM FOR I SEMESTER SUBJECTS held at St. Aloysius Evening College Mangalore and RECORDING AND MAINTAINING SSP AND NSP held at MAHE, Manipal on 22nd Nov. 2019.
- He has also participated in a one-day state-level seminar on “ Idea of Karnataka” held in our college in collaboration with Neharu Chinthana Kendra , Mangalore University on 27th September 2019.
- Being one of the Ex-Professors of MSRS College Shirva, he was felicitated by Global Alumni Meet of MSRS Alumni Association Mumbai.
- He is also appointed as Students’ Welfare Officer of the College and he is the E-Attestation officer too.

- His research article “Role of Urban Local Government: A Futuristic Perspective” is published in the international journal of innovative practice and applied research ISSN-23-49-8978, volume IX.
- He participated in a one-day national conference on “Challenges of Higher Education Teacher Initiatives’’ held on 11th January 2020, SDM College of Law Mangalore.
